i am presently finishing key chapters in a global review of the uses and impacts of medicolegal evidence in sexual assault cases for the SVRI. in the past, i have posted on this listserve asking for relevant materials from subscribers. i have a great deal of material on the uses of medicolegal evidence from low, middle and high income countries. However, the FEW studies i have been able to locate or have received in terms of impacts (that is, evaluations of the uses of medicolegal evidence), is all from high income countries.

i would like to ask this time as well for information about any "studies" that have more generally examined factors associated with legal outcomes in sexual assault cases (e.g., charge laying/filing, conviction). While i have already summarized many studies like this that are relevant to the review as they include "injury" and some type of composite "forensic evidence" variable in their research designs, again, most of the material is from high income countries. i would like to make that i have full international coverage.

if you are aware of any such studies/materials (in English or otherwise), could you please email me at:

janice.dumont at wchospital.ca

thanks very much,

Janice
