We would also like to take this opportunity to share with you some of
our most recent publications commissioned by the SVRI with support from
the Oak Foundation: 

1.         Parenting and the Prevention of Child Maltreatment in Low-
and Middle-Income Countries - A Systematic Review of Interventions, and
a Discussion of Prevention of the Risks of Future Violent Behaviour
among Boys: This review investigates the effectiveness of parenting
interventions for reducing harsh or abusive parenting, increasing
positive parenting practices, attitudes and knowledge, and improving
parent-child relationships in low- and middle-income countries. In
addition, the discussion section considers the potential for adapting
parenting interventions from high- to low-/middle-income countries; and
the potential role of parenting interventions in addressing current and
future violent behavior among boys and men.

2.         Interventions to Strengthen Biological or Social Parenting
and the Home Setting to Prevent Sexual Abuse of Children and to
Influence the Gender Socialisation of Boys: The objectives of this
review are to evaluate how parenting programs succeed at: (1)
eliminating child abuse as manifest in official reports and in-person
assessments; (2) altering parenting behaviors or attitudes associated
with abuse; (3) enhancing parent-child relationships and positive
parenting skills as buffers against abuse.

3.         Risk Factors and Social Dynamics Underpinning Rape and
Critique of Best Practice in Rape Prevention Policy Internationally:
This review is one of the first undertaken on the availability of
policies addressing the prevention of sexual violence globally. It
involves an analysis of literature on risk factors and social dynamics
underpinning rape and critique of best practice in rape prevention
policy internationally.

4.         Prevention of Rape Perpetration for Boys and Young Men: This
review will focus on effective interventions to prevent rape
perpetration for boys and young men. It is being undertaken by Promundo
Brazil and will complement and build on their on-going research, program
and advocacy experience in promoting the engagement of men and boys in
gender equality in Brazil and internationally. The review will be made
