Gang Rape Video Asks Questions of Media, News24, 18 April 2012<http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Gang-rape-video-asks-questions-of-media-20120418>: The media's use of screen shots and audio clips from the video of a Soweto teenager being gang raped was "highly problematic", a media analyst said on Wednesday.

Right Steps on Military Sexual Assault, New York Times Opinion Pages, 17 April 2012<http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/18/opinion/right-steps-on-sexual-assault-in-the-military.html?_r=1>: Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Monday announced several encouraging steps to fight sexual assault in the military. The most notable is the requirement that complaints be handled by senior officers - colonels or Navy captains - instead of lower-ranking officers who are often ill equipped or reluctant to pursue assault cases.

Fistula - Another Blight on the Child Bride, Inter Press Service News Agency, 13 April 2012<http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=107421>: It was personal experience that turned Gul Bano and her cleric husband, Ahmed Khan, into ambassadors against early marriage and its worst corollary - obstetric fistula which allows excretory matter to flow out through the birth canal.

Sexual Abuse May Put Boys at Risk for Unsafe Sex, HealthDay News, 10 April 2012<http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_123919.html>: Male teens who were sexually abused are more likely to have unsafe sex, a new study finds. University of British Columbia researchers analyzed data from more than 40,000 American and Canadian male high school students who were surveyed between 1986 and 2011.

UN Rights Chief Urges Barbados to Address Domestic Violence and Discrimination, UN News Centre, 5 April 2012<http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=41723&Cr=caribbean&Cr1>: The United Nations human rights chief today urged Barbados to adopt more effective legislation measures to combat discrimination and domestic and sexual violence in the country, adding that an attitudinal change is needed in society as a whole to tackle these issues.

Conference Report 2011. Women Forging a New Security: Ending Sexual Violence in Conflict. Nobel Women's Initiative has published a report detailing the flavour of those discussions and 'next steps' to advance the movement to end the scourge of sexual violence in conflict.
