1) Interesting Study Seeking Participants: How Parents Who Work in Sexual Assault-Related Fields Create a Discourse with Their Own Children about Sexual Assault.

If you are the parent of at least one child age ten or older and started doing sexual assault-related work before or while raising children, please consider participating in a qualitative study exploring how parents who work in sexual assault-related fields create a discourse with their own children about sexual assault. The process would consist of a short demographics questionnaire and an interview, conducted in person or over the phone or Skype, lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. Interview questions will be provided in advance along with the Informed Consent form.

The research is being conducted by Karen Taylor, a master's-level student at the Smith College School for Social Work, as the basis for her master's thesis (and to continue afterward, if possible!) The purpose of this project is to learn more about the experience of parents who do this work and to contribute to our understanding of sexual assault prevention. This study has been approved by the Human Subjects Review Committee of Smith College.

If you are interested in participating or would like to know more about the study, please contact Karen Taylor at krtaylor at smith.edu<mailto:krtaylor at smith.edu> or 410-938-4586 for more information.
