I. SVRI Members Requests

1) Survey Request: Exploring Issues for Service Providers and Male Survivors in Developing Countries

Alastair Hilton is a social work consultant and researcher currently working in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, who has for many years specialised in issues related to male survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation.

He is currently carrying out a survey of organisations based in developing countries that are providing support services, or seeking to provide services to male survivors of sexual abuse of any age. The survey seeks to explore the unique challenges and needs of service providers and those boys and men they work with. Services or individuals currently working with only females, but who are interested in developing this area of work are also welcome to respond. The findings will be shared with all respondents and used to advocate for greater awareness and resources for this under served group.

2) Survey Request: Improving Safe Livelihoods and Gender-based Violence Prevention

Women's Refugee Commission<http://www.womensrefugeecommission.org/> is conducting a survey to determine how to improve their resources and better serve the international humanitarian community regarding Safe Livelihoods and Gender-based violence Prevention. The Women's Refugee Commission advocates for laws, policies and programs to improve the lives and protect the rights of refugee and internally displaced women, children and young people, including those seeking asylum-bringing about lasting, measurable change. This conference by Isis WICCE comes at a time when women from both countries are standing up to the call of being active participants in the ongoing peace talks.
