1) Contest on Best Practices and Innovative Approaches on Gender, Young Women and HIV in Latin America

Development Connections and UNAIDS (Latin America Regional Office), in collaboration with networks of women living with HIV and young people, universities and international organizations, are pleased to announce the "Contest on Best Practices and Innovative Approaches on Gender, Young Women and HIV in Latin America" on two thematic categories:


·         Best practices addressing the priority issues of the UNAIDS Agenda for Women, Girls, Gender Equality and HIV.

·         Innovative theoretical and methodological approaches that focus on the situation of young women and HIV and its intersections with sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and/or gender-based violence (GBV).



The manuscripts can refer to any Latin American country or sub-region or to the Spanish-speaking Caribbean and may be submitted in either Spanish or Portuguese. This initiative is part of the project "Strengthening implementation of the UNAIDS Agenda for Women, Girls, Gender Equality and HIV, and strategies for young women living with HIV in Latin America". 2) Call of expression of interest to participate in the EU Civil Society Platform against Trafficking in Human Beings

Civil society organisations from Slovenia, four selected neighbouring priority third countries (Albania, Morocco, Turkey and Ukraine) and civil society organisations dedicated to children rights are invited to express an interest to participate in the second meeting of the EU Civil Society Platform on Trafficking in Human Beings to take place on 9 and 10 December 2013 in Brussels.

Center for Women's Global Leadership, 2013<http://16dayscwgl.rutgers.edu/2013-campaign/2013-take-action-kit>: This year's campaign continues with the global theme, "From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World," and marks our fourth year of advocacy on the intersections of gender-based violence and militarism. The 16 Days Take Action Kit for 2013 can be downloaded in PDF or Microsoft Word format. Currently, the Kit is available in English, with French and Spanish forthcoming later this summer.
