I. SVRI Members Request: Survey to Improve Humanitarian Action to Address Gender-Based Violence

The global Gender-based Violence Area of Responsibility Working Group (GBV AoR) has recently initiated a two-year process for revising the 2005 edition of the IASC Guidelines for Gender-based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Settings, with funding from the US State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration. The GBV AOR invites humanitarian actors from all sectors/clusters to participate in a survey that aims to understand the usefulness of the IASC GBV Guidelines and to generate recommendations for key components that should be revised.

Two surveys have been prepared. The first targets "GBV Specialists" (those humanitarian actors who work directly on the issue of GBV): please visit http://s.zoomerang.com/s/EngGBVSpecialist. The second survey targets "non-GBV specialists" (other humanitarian actors who do not work specifically on GBV): please visit http://s.zoomerang.com/s/EngNonGBVSpecialist. Please feel free to share the survey URLs with colleagues who work in humanitarian settings.

The deadline for completing the survey is COB February 15, 2013. The survey, which will take between 5 and 15 minutes to answer, is also available in French, Spanish and Arabic. Contact Julie Lafreniere, julielafreniere at gmail.com<mailto:julielafreniere at gmail.com> to obtain the links to these surveys, or for any additional questions or comments.
