Dear SVRI List Members,

Please take note of the following special events. Please disseminate these widely!

I. SVRI Forum 2015: Innovation and intersections

We are delighted to announce our fourth international conference, the SVRI Forum 2015<http://www.svri.org/forum2015/>! This important event will be hosted from 14 - 17 September at Spier 1692 Estate, Stellenbosch, South Africa. It will bring together colleagues from around the world, under the theme of innovation and intersections, to present papers, panels, posters, special sessions and workshops, to discuss and network around scientific and practical matters related to the prevention of, and response to sexual and intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect in a variety of settings among different populations, in low and middle income countries. You can participate in the following ways:

Oral and poster presentations<http://www.svri.org/forum2015/abstract.htm>
Oral and poster presentations describe a research project, or intervention that talks to our theme; focuses on sexual, intimate partner and / or childhood violence; addresses key debates current in the field among different populations in different priority settings. The SVRI Forum will focus debate around key questions and themes to guide abstract submissions. Submissions close: 30 April 2015.
Special sessions<http://www.svri.org/forum2015/sessions.htm>
Special sessions are your opportunity to innovate and experiment with the SVRI Forum 2015 format. Possible sessions could include, for example, a seminar on a new topic, a session on intervention development, scale up, adaptation; a session for speed-networking; a seminar on different ways to present research and complex ideas. They are generally around 60 - 90 minutes in length, held in standard conference spaces and distinct from oral, poster or workshop tracks. The form of a special session is yours to design. Submissions close: 30 April 2015.

Pre-conference workshops, 14th September 2015<http://www.svri.org/forum2015/workshop.htm>
We would like to invite interested individuals and organisations to submit expressions of interest to run pre-conference workshops. These workshops offer an opportunity to learn research techniques, new technologies and interventions and to foster scholarship and collaboration. We encourage expressions of interest that focus on research methodology, ethics, data analysis, research uptake, use of technology to perpetrate/prevent/respond to violence, and other relevant issues. Participants are charged a small fee to attend these workshops. Submissions close: 28 February 2015.

Please visit the SVRI Forum 2015<http://www.svri.org/forum2015/> website for more information on important dates<http://www.svri.org/forum2015/dates.htm> and other announcements. We look forward to seeing you in South Africa!
